25 Banks Urge One-Window Housing Documentation at Rawalpindi Authority to Boost Prime Minister's Ghar Ho Tou Apna Programme.

Commercial banks in Rawalpindi urged the Rawalpindi Development Authority to give the national ‘Ghar Ho Tou Apna’ housing project a one‑window documentation system. The request was raised during a consultative session organized by the State Bank of Pakistan in Rawalpindi, which gathered 25 commercial banks and 34 housing societies. Chief Manager Rizwan Khaleel Shamsi chaired the meeting and urged developers to promote vertical housing as a sustainable and affordable option. He said, "Vertical urbanisation is the most suitable solution to address environmental concerns while also providing low-cost housing," and noted that forests and green belts in cities had been turned into housing societies over recent years, creating environmental challenges. During the session, banks highlighted paperwork difficulties and called for designated focal persons from revenue authorities and the RDA to ensure a smooth process. Participants also discussed mortgage and lien marking issues and shared recommendations. Senior Deputy Chief Manager Umar Siddique Khattak announced that additional high‑level events would soon take place and suggested forming a working group to address obstacles and advise on affordable housing promotion.
