AJK PML‑N Chief Declares PPP’s Election Rigging Claims Baseless, Affirms Party Will Form Stable Government.

Shah Ghulam Qadir, President of the Pakistan Muslim League‑Nawaz in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), said Thursday that the Pakistan Peoples Party’s accusations of irregularities in the latest assembly polls were "baseless". The PML‑N leader said the election results showed the public’s trust in the party. Qadir congratulated supporters after the party’s victory in several constituencies, including Mirpur Division, Muzaffarabad Division, and 12 seats reserved for Kashmiri refugees from Indian‑occupied Jammu and Kashmir who live in Pakistan. He said the PML‑N would soon form a stable government in AJK and launch new development projects. With the final phase of polling in Rawalakot Division set for August 10, Qadir urged party workers to keep peace and order. He described Rawalakot residents as "brave and resilient" and asked them to back the PML‑N for a clean sweep of the region’s seats. The chief also criticised the PPP, urging the opposition to focus on its own government’s performance in Sindh rather than attacking PML‑N. Senior PML‑N figures, including AJK assembly member Raja Muhammad Riasat Khan and former minister Sardar Farooq Sikandar, attended Qadir’s meeting and praised the party’s results.
