Fire at Saudi Arabia’s Aramco Refinery in Jazan Extinguished after Houthi Rebels Claim Attack This Week.

A fire that broke out at an Aramco refinery in Jazan was extinguished by the company’s industrial security firefighting teams, the Saudi Arabian energy ministry said. The blaze began at dawn and was relieved without any injuries. Yemen’s Houthi rebels said on Sunday that they had succeeded in targeting the refinery with a drone. The Houthi claim follows earlier reports that the same drone attack damaged the refinery’s Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) complex and tank farm area in July, prompting a shutdown. The refinery processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day and produces gasoline and ultra‑light sulfur diesel. Two military sources linked to the internationally recognised government confirmed that the Houthis also launched missiles and drones at the port city of Mokha and nearby Bab al‑Mandeb islands, but no casualties were reported among Saudi troops. Residents in government‑controlled Mokha heard several explosions, but the incident did not result in reported deaths or injuries.
