Former Olympian Rahim Khan said he is not hopeful that Pakistan will achieve major success at the FIH Hockey World Cup because the team has not prepared adequately. He said the team played a series against the weaker South Korea instead of a tougher opponent before the tournament, and that the foreign coaching staff had insufficient time to work with the squad. Khan said better coaching could still help if clear tactical solutions were given. He believes Pakistan should target a win against Wales, but acknowledges that matches against India and England will be difficult.
