Four Armed Men Seize Over Rs6.5 Million from Karachi's Edhi Shelter, Chief Minister Urges Immediate Arrest.

Four armed men stormed the Edhi shelter home at Sohrab Goth, Karachi, on Friday. They held staff at gunpoint and stole more than Rs6.5 million in cash that had been drawn as the monthly salaries for the shelter’s staff. An Edhi Foundation spokesperson told which outlet that about 250‑300 employees work at the home where orphaned children live. The cash was intended for the monthly pay of the staff, and the robbers took it before they fled. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said the shelter provides aid to the poor and helpless. He condemned the robbery as unacceptable and directed the concerned officials to ensure the immediate arrest of the culprits. Police are investigating the incident. No injuries have been reported and no arrests have yet been made.
