Over the past three days, gold per tola in Pakistan has risen by Rs26,400, influenced by global market movements. Internationally, gold reached a seven‑week high on Friday, as investors reacted to an unexpected drop in U.S. non‑farm payrolls. Spot gold climbed 2.4% to $4,341.69 per ounce, its highest since June.
The U.S. payrolls fell by 23,000 jobs in July, below expectations, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The contraction dampened rate‑hike hopes and lifted bullion prices.
In Pakistan, the rupee moved slightly against the dollar, closing at 277.71 per U.S. dollar, up one paisa from 277.72.
These developments suggest that currency movements and global economic data are shaping the domestic bullion market.
