Minister Kamal Khan Supports Creation of Smaller Provinces to Devolve Powers to Districts and Public Services.

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan has urged the creation of smaller provinces and administrative units. He released a video message on Saturday to promote the idea that smaller provinces would bring political and financial powers, resources, and public services closer to citizens. The 18th Amendment transferred powers from the federal government to the provinces, but devolution to the district level has not taken place, he said. He emphasised that restructuring governance is imperative to achieve more effective local administration. The proposal aims to devolve provincial authority to districts and improve public service delivery.
