Murder Charge Added to Mir Raza Ali Case as Re‑postmortem Report Finds Gunshot Wounds.

Police added a murder charge to the case of Mir Raza Ali after a preliminary re‑postmortem report revealed gunshot injuries. The re‑postmortem found an entry wound on the back and an exit wound on the chest, a fractured rib, and internal bleeding, all of which were determined to be ante‑mortem. The original filing, under Section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code, registered a kidnapping at Ferozabad Police Station as FIR No 795/20. With the new findings, Section 302 (murder) has been incorporated into the FIR. A new investigation team will revisit the crime scene, re‑question the victim’s family and other witnesses, and review the evidence collected during the autopsy. Family lawyer Jibran Nasir urged a transparent, impartial investigation, claiming police had pressured the family to accept a suicide explanation. He also noted that the family had asked for a clear identification of those responsible. Mir Hassan, the victim’s father, echoed these concerns, stating that the family had persisted since 30 August that his son was murdered and that earlier references to suicide were unfounded. The post‑mortem collected 17 samples, including blood, tissue, skin, hair, teeth and material associated with the firearm injury, which are to be analysed for forensic and chemical evidence.
