New post-mortem finds Mir Ali Raza shot in back with multiple injuries indicates possible torture, not suicide.

A fresh post‑mortem conducted after the exhumation of Mir Ali Raza’s body by an eight‑member board led by Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed at the Tariq Road graveyard established that he was shot in the back. The investigation found multiple injuries on his head and face and fractures on his nasal bone and skull, suggesting he may have endured torture before death. The board recorded a fractured rib on the back, the entry wound of the gunshot, and an exit wound from the front. It also noted injuries on the right flank and feet, and a congealed black substance in his mouth and throat. Raza, a 25‑year‑old owner of the eatery Wafflix, went missing on 28 July. His body was discovered a day later near Shahi Qila Ground in Gulistan‑i‑Jauhar, with a gunshot wound in the bushes. The family maintains that Raza was kidnapped, tortured and murdered. Following controversy over the initially flawed autopsy report, Raza’s family filed a request with a judicial magistrate for the exhumation. After the post‑mortem, Dr Syed said the cause of death was reserved until laboratory reports were received. Samples for positive identification, chemical analysis and gunshot residue were collected. Raza’s lawyer, Advocate Jibran Nasir, has demanded a new investigation team, citing the medical report and alleged injuries as evidence of murder following torture. Investigators continuing to probe the case have not yet released a definitive conclusion, leaving the cause of death pending laboratory analysis.
