Over 2,600 Pakistan Police and Federal Constabulary Personnel Killed Since 1970; 235 Lost in Reported Bloodiest Year, 2025.

According to a report in The Express Tribune, Pakistan’s struggle against terrorism has largely focused on the Army, but police and Federal Constabulary (FC) officers have also paid a high price. Since 1970, more than 2,600 police and FC personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have lost their lives. Between 2000 and 2026 alone, over 2,400 of those officers died. The year 2025 was the most deadly, claiming 235 lives. Early July 2026 saw an additional 150 personnel killed. Unlike army units that rotate deployments, police and FC officers often continue to serve within the communities that the terrorist groups target. Their sacrifices are often overlooked in national discussions. The article argues that Pakistan should recognize these fallen officers through better protection and ongoing support.
