Pakistan Accused of Fatally Shooting 30 Unarmed Protesters in Kashmir

A local civil rights group, the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), has accused Pakistani security forces of fatally shooting at least 30 unarmed protesters in Pakistan-administered Kashmir over the past two days. According to the JAAC, the security services fired on tens of thousands of peaceful protesters, resulting in 25 deaths on Monday and five more on Tuesday. The group also alleges that authorities have removed evidence of the killings amid a communications blackout. The region has been under a brutal state crackdown for weeks.
