Pakistan's commerce ministry sanctions Rs10bn for textile and other export sectors under duty drawback and technology upgradation schemes.
Pakistan's Ministry of Commerce has allocated Rs10bn to the textile and apparel industry and other export sectors.
The money will be spent under the Duty Drawback Scheme, which lets exporters claim refunds on duties paid on raw materials, and under the Technology Upgradation Scheme, which finances modernisation of machinery and production processes.
Federal Minister Jam Kamal Khan said the funds would improve industry liquidity and help exporters enhance exports.
The initiative aims to provide liquidity support to export‑oriented industries and to improve their competitiveness and presence in international markets.
The textile and apparel sector, the largest earner of Pakistan's exports, is expected to benefit the most, along with sectors such as leather, sports goods, surgical instruments and pharmaceuticals.
The allocation reflects the government's effort to strengthen Pakistan's export sector and create an enabling environment for sustainable growth.
