Pakistani player Muhammad Zubair won the Tekken‑8 championship at the Esports World Cup (EWC) in Paris held from August 5‑8. In the grand final, he eliminated South Korean competitor LowHigh with a clean 5-0 sweep. Earlier in the competition, Zubair defeated compatriot Arslan “Ash” Siddique in the second group stage and then bested the eight‑time Evolution Championship Series winner with a 5‑4 semifinal. For his victory, the new world champion received a prize of $250,000. Arslan “Ash” Siddique finished in fourth place after a decider loss to Australia’s Yagami; he had recently won the 2026 Evo series in Las Vegas. Other titles at the EWC included Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Counter Strike 2, Dota 2, League of Legends, Street Fighter, and Valorant.
