PML‑N to Form Azad Jammu and Kashmir Government and Prioritize Talks with Joint Awami Action Committee.

Rana Sanaullah, a senior PML‑N leader, said the party will form a government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir with a two‑thirds majority. According to Sanaullah, the elected government will hold talks with the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) as its first priority. The PML‑N party is expected to have 30 members in the assembly—24 elected seats and six reserved seats. Sanaullah noted that six more seats are needed for a two‑thirds majority and that four seats from Poonch Division and Bagh district are likely to win in the final phase of the elections. He stated that the government would be in place within two to three weeks and that the first task would be to resolve issues raised by the JAAC. Sanaullah emphasized that the majority of the committee’s members are “patriotic Kashmiris and Pakistanis” and urged unity to defeat any divisions among Kashmiris. The third phase of polling in Bagh, Haveli, Poonch (Rawalakot) and Sudhnoti districts is closely watched as parties push for support before the assembly is fully formed.
