President Asif Ali Zardari presented the Nishan‑i‑Imtiaz (Military) to General Aamer Raza, commander of Pakistan’s National Strategic Command, during an investiture ceremony at Aiwan‑i‑Sadr in Islamabad. The conferment of the award was approved by the President on July 31, the same day the ceremony took place, in recognition of General Raza’s leadership. Nishan‑i‑Imtiaz is the highest civilian honour awarded for military service in Pakistan. It is presented by the President to senior officers for exceptional service.
