Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Arrives in Saudi Arabia for Three-Day Visit, Aims to Strengthen Bilateral Ties.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday evening to begin a three‑day diplomatic visit. He was welcomed by Deputy Governor of Makkah Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz at the airport. Accompanying the premier are key Pakistani officials: Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, who was in Saudi Arabia after a trip to Jordan, will also join the delegation. Saudi officials present at the welcome include Saudi Minister of Agriculture, Water and Environment Engineer Abdulrahman and Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq. During the visit, the prime minister will perform Umrah and visit the Prophet’s mosque in Madina. According to a briefing by Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, he will meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and discuss ways to consolidate Pakistan‑Saudi relations and share views on regional and international matters of mutual interest. The forum is intended to deepen strategic cooperation, enhance coordination on regional issues, and strengthen multilateral ties beyond the immediate Gulf tensions. Sharif last visited Saudi Arabia in April, when he met the kingdom’s top leadership. Pakistan has voiced support for Saudi Arabia’s multinational maritime defence coalition in the Red Sea, and it has reaffirmed its commitment to secure maritime trade routes and defend Pakistani maritime interests. The visit underscores Pakistan’s long‑standing partnership with Saudi Arabia, described by officials as founded on decades of mutual trust, cooperation and brotherhood.
