Privatisation commission names EY‑Parthenon‑led consortium to advise on outsourcing of Lahore and Karachi airports.

The Privatisation Commission approved the appointment of a financial adviser to oversee the outsourcing of Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. The board selected a consortium led by EY‑Parthenon as the top‑ranked interested party. It also formed a negotiation committee to finalise the Financial Advisory Services Agreement with that consortium. A month earlier, the commission had chosen the Manila‑based Asian Development Bank as financial and transaction adviser for the outsourcing of New Islamabad International Airport. The commission also began the privatization of the Lahore Electric Supply Company and the Multan Electric Power Company, both power distribution entities. Those companies are part of the fourth batch of distribution companies identified for privatization; earlier batches are at various stages of the process. Faisalabad Electric, the first company in the first batch, has attracted dozens of local and international investors. Expressions of interest are under review, while two other first‑batch companies have two months until deadline.
