PTI Demands Improved Meeting Facilities and Medical Care for Imran Khan Before Accepting Gov’t Re‑offer of Talks.

The Pakistani government has renewed its invitation to the Pakistan Tehreek‑e‑Insaf (PTI) for talks. PTI says it will only engage if the venue offered meets its standards and if its founder, Imran Khan, can receive medical care from his own doctors. PTI Chief Whip Aamir Dogar met National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at Parliament House, and Federal Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry was also present. After the meeting, Dr Fazal said the government had again offered talks at the venue PTI had proposed, adding that “the ball is now in PTI’s court.” PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram told Dawn that the party had not received a formal notice that the National Assembly session, scheduled for Aug 7, was delayed to Aug 17 because of tensions between PML‑N and PPP. He said the secretariat told Aamir Dogar that the speaker wanted to meet him to discuss the timing. PTI made clear that negotiations would not happen unless a "conducive environment" was created and that meetings with Imran Khan, as well as access to his personal doctors, were essential. It also rejected simply attending photo sessions. PTI added that the speaker had suggested it join parliamentary standing committees, but it said any decision would come from Imran Khan. The government must respond positively if negotiations are to move forward, PTI warned.
