Rana Sanaullah Promises Two‑Thirds Majority Government for Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Under PML‑N.

Adviser Rana Sanaullah spoke at a rally in Bagh ahead of the third phase of elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said the PML‑N would form a government with a two‑thirds majority. After the first two phases the party had won 24 seats. It needs six more seats to reach a two‑thirds majority. Sanaullah added that four seats will be added after the August 10 polling and five more after the rest of the Poonch Division votes. He urged supporters to vote on Monday, promising that a PML‑N government would prioritise development projects. Sanaullah also said the PML‑N government would meet with members of the joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC). The JAAC has been protesting for weeks, demanding the removal of 12 seats in the local legislature that are reserved for refugees from Indian‑held Kashmir. He said 99 % of the JAAC protesters are “our brothers” and that they are patriotic Kashmiris and Pakistanis. He described the remaining protestors as the ones seeking division and urged cooperation with the PML‑N to “expose and defeat” those elements. Sanaullah noted that large‑scale development projects in AJK were only completed when the PML‑N was in power at the centre and in the region. He said Nawaz Sharif would name a PML‑N candidate from Bagh as the future prime minister of AJK and would discuss development projects with the new government.
