Re‑postmortem of Mir Raza Ali Completed, Samples Sent for DNA and Chemical Tests, Identity Still Uncertain.

On Saturday, an eight‑member medical board finished the re‑postmortem of Karachi businessman Mir Raza Ali and indicated that samples were sent for testing. "The post‑mortem examination of the body has been completed and samples sent for testing," a board member, Professor Dr Naseem, said at a press conference outside Tariq Road cemetery. The exhumation began at 11:07 am, and the post‑mortem work was completed shortly thereafter. The board was originally scheduled to meet on Friday, but the family objected to a change in the medical board; the court restored the original eight‑member panel. Dr Summaiya Syed, Dr Kamran, Dr Sri Chand, Dr Daniyal, Dr Farrukh and Dr Naseem served on the board, with the judge and a police surgeon overseeing the process. "We are not certain that this body belongs to Ali," CPLC official Amir Hasan told reporters. The board collected DNA samples from the body and from Ali’s parents to determine identity. An initial report is expected by 6 pm Saturday, and a final report will follow after chemical analysis.
