Security forces kill 10 Fitna-Al-Khawarij terrorists in two engagements in Khyber‑Pakhtunkhwa, officials praise troops.

Pakistan security forces reportedly killed 10 militants identified as Fitna‑Al‑Khawarij during two separate confrontations in Khyber‑Pakhtunkhwa on August 6. In the first encounter near Azam Warsak in South Waziristan, troops halted an attack on a checkpoint and neutralised eight fighters. In Dir district, forces eliminated two additional militants. The Inter‑Services Public Relations said weapons and ammunition were seized from the dead fighters. The military is conducting sanitisation operations to remove other terror cells as part of the Azm‑e‑Istehkam counter‑terrorism campaign. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif released statements commending the soldiers and pledging national support. The PM praised their professionalism, courage, and sacrifice. Both leaders affirmed that the punishment of foreign‑sponsored terrorist elements will continue until eradication.
