Sindh government forms judicial commission to investigate Mir Raza Ali's killing after preliminary post‑mortem findings.

The Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar announced that a judicial commission, led by a Sindh High Court judge, will be established to oversee an investigation into the death of Mir Raza Ali, the owner of the online payment service Wafflix. The commission will examine two medical reports produced during the post‑mortem and will decide on any contradictions between them. A new police investigation team headed by DIG Amir Farooqi, with three senior police officers, has also been formed. The team will keep Mir Raza’s family informed and will work within the commission’s oversight to ensure a transparent process. The Home Minister said that the investigation would not consider any police opinion final until the inquiry is complete. The charge of murder under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code was added to the original First Information Report (FIR) filed at Ferozabad police station after the preliminary post‑mortem findings. The FIR had initially been registered under Section 365, dealing with kidnapping. Lanjar, accompanied by Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab and senior police officials, visited Mir Raza’s residence to offer condolences to his family before announcing the decision to form the commission.
