Image via UnsplashIn Rawalpindi, Somalia’s defence minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi met Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters.
The Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the visit was led by a high‑level Somali delegation and that the minister thanked Pakistan for its steadfast support. He applauded the professional role of the Pakistani armed forces in promoting regional peace and stability.
Both sides emphasized the need to deepen military‑to‑military ties. They discussed capacity‑building initiatives that could help counter shared security challenges and exchange ideas on mutual interests, regional security dynamics and further cooperation.
Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to assist Somalia in strengthening its security apparatus and fostering lasting peace in the region.
