Sunday night terrorist attack on Upper Swat police post foiled, two attackers wounded, police respond with force.

Police officials report that a terrorist attack on the Chatkekal police post near Jarogo Waterfall in Upper Swat was foiled late on Sunday night. Over twelve attackers surrounded the post and opened fire from all directions. Police members stationed at the post immediately counterattacked with effective gunfire, forcing the attackers to retreat and flee the area. Two terrorists were reported wounded in the exchange. Security personnel have increased surveillance in the area, and authorities are still gathering details. District Police Officer Mushtaq Ahmad praised the police for their swift response and bravery. “Such cowardly attacks cannot demoralise Swat Police. Our personnel know how to respond effectively to terrorist attacks.” The incident followed a week after a suicide bombing near Kabal Police Station that claimed 17 lives, including seven officers.
