The first incident involved a group of Fitna‑Al‑Khawarij operatives attempting to assault a security checkpoint near Azam Warsak. The ISPR reported that the attempted attack was “effectively thwarted by own troops” and that eight attackers were killed during a subsequent fire exchange. In the second encounter in Dir district, security forces “successfully neutralised” two additional militants, according to the ISPR. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the fallen militants, who the statement said had been “actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.” The ISPR further described ongoing sanitisation operations in the region as part of a broader counter‑terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm e Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
