Thousands Rally in Swat After Sunday Suicide Attack, Demand Permanent Peace and Government Action.

Friday’s demonstration took place at Nishat Chowk in Mingora, the capital of Swat district in Khyber‑Pakhtunkhwa. The protest was organized by the Swat Awami Pasawon and drew thousands of people from different groups. They carried placards, banners and black flags, chanting the slogan “We want peace on our own land.” The rally followed a suicide attack outside Kabal police station on Sunday that left at least 15 people, including six police personnel, martyred and wounded others. Speakers at the gathering included Mukhtiar Yousafzai, Khurshid Kakaji, Ghairat Khan Yousafzai, journalist Fayaz Zafar, Sultan Ali Khan, Anwar Bacha Lala, Tahir Khan, Fazal Ahad Lala Ji, Haris Bacha, Shahzad Khan, Ajab Khan, and Bahadur Sher Afghan. They called on the government to take effective steps to improve law and order, protect citizens’ lives and property, and permanently eliminate terrorism from Swat. The speakers warned of an organized conspiracy to create unrest, stating that the people of Swat would not tolerate any sabotage of their peace and would stand united against anti‑peace elements.
