Yemen’s Iran‑aligned Houthi group claimed to have attacked Saudi Aramco’s Jazan refinery on Sunday, two days after the kingdom signed a defense pact with Turkey and Pakistan. The Saudi energy ministry said a fire broke out at the refinery but was later extinguished, with no injuries reported. The refinery processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day and also produces gasoline and ultra‑light sulfur diesel. Houthi statements mentioned missile and drone strikes on Yemeni port city Mocha and earlier attacks on Saudi troops and weapons arsenal in the area. The defense pact, signed in Makkah, commits the allies to mutual deterrence against aggression; three nations agreed that an attack on any would be viewed as an attack on all. Aramco CEO Amin Nasser said the attacks caused some production interruptions but did not affect operations or finances materially.
